Mind & Body techniques in conditioning preparation have their application in preventive, restorative and transitive kinesitherapeutic programs. They contribute to the improvement of breathing mechanics, of mobility, stability, flexibility, inner strength of the whole body and especially of the trunk, as well as to the improvement of equilibrium (balance), muscular endurance and proprioception. In our Body & Mind Studio we apply these techniques especially in the phases of purifying the basic motoric patterns and of rising the level of motoric control and literacy. These techniques have a wide application in individual protocols of prevention, too, and in training sessions immediately before competition, in regenerative training sessions, in preparation parts of conditioning training as well as in the kinesitherapeutic programs during the healing of sports injuries. The application of these methods must be clever and guided by trainers highly specialized in these methods since the repertoire of the exercises is broad and their effect on each athlete is very specific. If they are applied knowledgeably, these methods will prevent injuries, improve the health status of the athlete and contribute to optimal development of all sports performances.
PROGRESSIVE® system uses in an intelligent manner the contents within DNS, STOTT PILATES® and Yoga during the whole season, which makes it a unique system for conditioning preparation in the world.
DYNAMIC NEUROMUSCULAR STABILIZATION (DNS) in conditioning preparation
DNS is based on neuro-developing aspects of motoric control with the aim to remove different forms of dysfunctions and compensations as well as to establish efficient patterns of moving. Actually, in the earliest phases of the child development a neurosystem creates motoric program which controls posture, walking and the entire moving. Through lifetime, as the consequence of action of various forces, badly adopted patterns and other factors, the earliest motoric development fades away and beneficial patterns get replaced by non-beneficial ones. All these factors result in bad posture, non-economic moving, lessened level of energy and eventually, chronic pains and injuries. Therefore, DNS applies specific kinds of moving which belong to a particular phase of neuro-motoric development through which our student learns again basic patterns of moving and increases the level of motoric status. In such a way DNS creates the conditions for further safe development of more complex motoric abilities as well as for the application of more intensive kinds of training.
The basic focus of DNS method is the stabilization of trunk through the correct breathing mechanism associated with the creation of intra-abdominal pressure. This process enables functional centering of all joints and creates circumstances in which the extremities can develop their optimal and safe mobility.
DNS mobility includes specific diagnostics, therapeutic and training protocols intended for rehabilitation of sports injuries as well as for prevention and correction of moving.
In our Body & Mind Studio, in the conditioning preparation, we pay special attention to the application of DNS principles in vertical exercises and movements specific to sport like: a throw, a hit, a jump, a sprint, etc.
